It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the peak baggers, are all that remain for a side that has accomplished all there is.

It needed as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the pitchers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batters to possess a record if never given the possibility.

In the end, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to create her newest gem.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Many contend the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was much more difficult to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance followed six innings in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it's been a challenging time because I feel like I've had no rhythm completely," commented Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive nature take over and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from there Healy was underway.

"A chance to play and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was out Australia required another 66 at run per delivery - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the confidence to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we are confident we can succeed."

These statements will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this tournament need to hear.

During the last week a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this victory coming after win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

But while she later admitted those physical issues have delayed plans to retire, this championship is anticipated as her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as skipper.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
